Time Required: Two days
Difficulty: Moderate

With Kevin's loud snoring nearly driving his brother Andrew to silence him for good, the boys decide that perhaps it's finally time to try out some alternative sleeping arrangements up at their lakeside cottage property. It's the middle of winter and the boys dream up a scheme for a retreat from the retreat -- an igloo on the lake comprised of all the amenities of a luxury boutique hotel. Get ready for the ultimate weekend getaway and check yourself in to the Ultimate Ice Hotel.

Project Steps

Step 3

For this project, you’re going to need to bundle up! Everything else you’ll require is listed below, and much of it is available from your nearest building supplies or hardware store:

• Snow and ice

For us, this winter, there certainly was no shortage of this particular building material.

• Lumber

We suggest you use the lumber calculator included with the Brojects App (free for iPhone and iPad) to calculate the amount of lumber that you’ll need.

• Snow knife

For slicing off large blocks of snow and shaving them down — we picked ours up down the road at the Grohmann Knives factory in Pictou, Nova Scotia.

• Extra large balloons

To decorate your ice tennis court and not to form the base of your igloo.

• Plastic fencing

For the net of our ice tennis court.
